Make sure the computer is turned on then Take a Paper Clip (Gem Clip) and straighten it out then kneel in front of the desktop facing the cd drawer. Look closely at the drawer and you will see tiny hole where you will insert the paper clip (Gem Clip) and at the same time Press the Button on the cd drawer while applying pressure by pushing the paper clip (Gem Clip). The drawer will pop open. Don't worry about breaking something, that's why that tiny hole is there.
There are 3 ways you can eject a CD. The first is to push the button. I guess that doesn't work for you. The second is to open "my computer", right-click on the CD icon and select "eject" from the menu. The third way is to push a paper clip into the little hole on the front of the CD. When you push it in, you will feel a little resistance and then it will release the drawer and it will partly open. You can then pull the drawer open. The reason for your problem? I don't know. It could be that for some reason this particular program did not terminate properly and the computer thinks you are still using the CD and won't spit it out.
There might be a teeny hole beside or very near the cd tray (where the cd ejects from) You may have to open the little flap that hides the sliding drawer part.
Straighten out an ordinary paper clip, and push it firmly into the little hole.
The cd drawer should eject manually. You may have to pull it out carefully when it starts to eject.
Take out cd, and then close the drawer, and then try to eject it the normal way. Sometimes, all it needs it a little help.
I have a HP Pavilion a320n, and this happens to me about every 6 months or so.
