Can't get ATS to function per instruction manual

It seems that a few steps are missing in the manual. I can't get the radio to auto-scan FM and put the stations in memory pages 99 and lower. Anyone figure out the correct series of keystrokes to make this happen?

It's a little more complex than JRinIL indicated. Here's what worked for me:
With the radio OFF, press and hold the F6 button for 2 seconds, then release, then quickly press and releas the F6 button to step through the 3 scan modes. The display will show which mode is currently selected.
Once you have ATS selected, turn the radio on, select FM, and press the UP arrow.
The radio will now scan all FM stations, filling the memory pages starting with page 99 and filling down.
Once finished, you'll find maybe 3, 4, or 5 pages each with 7 memories of FM. Select the memory page with the arrow UP and DOWN buttons, and press F1 through F7 to access each of the 7 memories on each page.
As the manual says (at least they got THIS right <g>) you may need to select LOC if you have a lot of memories with just static!

Hope this helps!!

You probably have to set the scan function to ATS mode by turning the radio off, pressing and holding the F6 button for 2 seconds, then releasing, then quickly pressing and releasing the F6 button to step through the 3 scan modes. The display will show which mode is currently selected.
