(start rant) It still amazes me that new washing machines, other than those sold in the UK, seem not to have manuals placed inside the drum/tub! I think that purchasers should demand one from the vendor and threaten to go elsewhere if it doesn't supply the goods! (end rant)
Of course the manual could have been lost!

Is it easier to use Fixya than a standard search engine?

I think you can download a manual for your saw from this link. or this link.
Another site I have had good luck with for these older models is here. Choose the publications/reprints tab at left, then choose craftsman in the manufacturer's link, and then click on machine type to sort the list into table saws. From there you might find a similar vintage manual that has the details you need. Many models have similar parts, and the descriptions of fence operation, etc are somewhat common.

Your posting gives us a big problem - you have not told us the make or model!
I would check the manufacturer's plate which is often on the back as that should have it. Alternatively I would think it would be in the manual if you have one. If you do not you will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount. During the process you will be asked for the actual model number!
May I also suggest you try the manufacturer's web site direct as another option?

yes every motor is way bigger then the cylinder mainly because of all the components that the motor has inside of it. the cylinder only gets the piston and rings sliding through it so it doesnt have to be big or anything, manufacturers probably think that this way will save way more money and weight.
