Question about Sony Mavica MVC-FD73 Digital Camera

Purple Pictures When in the camera mode my mvc-fd73 appears all purple, the pictures also turn out this way. I was outside taking pictures and noticed the screen color go nutz a couple of times. Came inside to take a few pictures and found the camera in this purple almost a solorized effect. The Screen looks fine in the play mode. I've tried a freshly charged battery and a fresh disk, but it made no difference.

I have A Nikon Coolpix E3200, its is about 4 years old and has worked fine until recently when taking pictures outside i noticed the pictures were turning purple. i only does this outside, as if there is a lens problem or something with the way the camera takes in light. Im not sure if Nikon will fix this for me.

This is a CCD sensor problem and should be replaced. Try to have it done free of charge by Sony even though your camera is an old model because CCD sensor should last 10 years +.

The camera took great pictures then all of a sudden the screen appears as a purple haze -- and the pictures come out as just a purple blurry haze. Adjusting brightness doesn't work. Yet, the shutt

If the LCD displays correctly on previous photos then the problem is more than likely a CCD or associated ribbon connector failure due to moisture/condensation or age/misuse. Good luck with finding a replacement part!

Purple Screen

If it is only 2 months old, then you still have warranty.
A purple lcd, viewfinder and photo is a 100% CCD failure.
If out of warranty, not worth the repair.

PowerShot A85 capture fault

Yup, it is a common problem. The shutter is jammed. I bet outside pictures are really overexposed. The horizontal lines are caused by the electronic noise created by the shutter solenoid trying to move the shutter. If the cameraq is no longer under warranty- Sometimes, you can free up the shutter by banging the camera in a hard surface like a desk or table. (Do this carefully, don't get carried away) If this doesn't work, you will need to replace the whole lens unit. this is best if the warranty is still good.

FD73 Photo Quality

I'm guessing, cause i own a F505 and not a FD73......but, I dont even see a use for the F505 "standard" quality setting. It will stay on "FINE" quality always. I've got a HP 882c and it prints just fine. I use HP premium photo paper and the printer setting BEST. Are you using photo paper? Regular paper will bleed the colors around. Take some pictures on FINE and print them out on photo paper w/ printer BEST and compare.
