Card Error? I have had my wonderful Fuji Finepix S7000 for about a year and a half and love it. However, recently all of a sudden it won't operate because the screen displays "Card Error" and won't go any further. Each memory card has the same result. Even with photos already taken on them. Help?

I had same problem from new. Using a Compact Flash card I would regularly get an error. After two years I couldn't get the camera to use Compact Flash. I got the error message every time one was inserted. I tried XD cards and they worked fine but now I have got the problem with a burned out centre of picture and fuzzy tv display problem. Works fine on video though. Might be time to chuck it in the bin as I have had it since they came out and had the battery drain fixed a few years ago but I don't think Fuji will entertain fixing it at this age.

I would try formatting the card. Make sure to save your pictures onto your computer first, then format the card while it's in your camera.

I think you have broken or bended any of the pin inside the card slot, and that is creating problem. Try looking in the card slot you may find any of the connector pin broken or bended. Try straighten the pin cautiously and may your machine start working .

Need a driver for finepix s7000 for windows 7

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.

My camera only shows half a picture after I take the picture on the little screen and if I keep taking pictures it goes all white? it's not the batteries. thank you

Hello - from a fellow Fuji user.
I'm assuming the pictures are looking OK on the PC when you download. If so this will be a LCD fault.
If NOT and the downloaded pictures are the same on the screen and the PC , then it looks like a sensor problem (CCD chip). I just did a quick search on the google.co.uk site and could only find 4 complaints , so it's pretty rare.
Try re-formatting the SD card just to eliminate that from the equation --

Plus there are S7000 forums to ask like http://forums.techguy.org/digital-photography-imaging/562485-fuji-finepix-s7000-problem.html
Hope this helps , but , if it's a sensor problem I hope it's still under warrantee -- Ray

Quick battery drain with Finepix S7000. Only about 25 shots!

See if there's a firmware download on the support section of the Fuji website.

The batteries were drained in my FinePix S7000 camera whthe camera was not in use.

The CompactFlash card may have caused the batteries to drain. Some solid state CompactFlash cards consume power while inserted in the FinePix S7000 even if the camera is turned OFF. Fujifilm recommends removing the CompactFlash card when the camera is not in use. Microdrives and xD-Picture Cards do not exhibit this problem.
