When I came home today my TV was severly...not sure what to call it, but there were the colors weren't lined up for the picture. From reading some of the other posts, I'm thinking convergence.
I attempted to use the "Perfect Focus" feature on my TV. The Green hopped around quite a bit and some of the lines were broken. Read and Blue both appeared to be about the same. The final white test never quite lined up completely white on the right side of the screen. Looks Green & Purple. I'm assuming this is the Red and Blue lining up...but the Grean isn't even close.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Techman. I opened up the TV found the STK modules you were mention. I searched for the part number online and found them from $14 to $31. I have no experience with TV's and after seeing what needed to be done I realized there was no way I could get those suckers off let alone get them back on.
I did notice a part number for the entire board (BP95-00142P), I work on PC's and I can handle replacing the entire thing. It's about $95, I figure that's less expensive than paying for someone to come out and solder on STK's. Does anyone know if the entire board includes the STK modules? Thanks Techman. Alingment is also off. Tried to focus manually but the outsides of the screen could not even get them close. Center of screen is focused perfectly. Perfect Focus didn't do a Damm thing!Alingment is also off. Tried to focus manually but the outsides of the screen could not even get them close. Center of screen is focused perfectly. If you have no experience repairing TV sets your going to have to have a tech replace the convergence ICs they are soldered into place and will probably need to be readjusted when this is done. if you know how to work on tvs then replacing the STK type ics in a pair is whats needed Good Luck
