How to install bobbin race on 9420 Singer - Rex RX-1804

If your Singer model 600e's bobbin case is stuck, try the following steps to remove it:

1. Turn off the sewing machine and unplug it from the power source.
2. Raise the presser foot and the needle to the highest position.
3. Open the bobbin cover and remove the bobbin from the bobbin case.
4. Locate the lever or button that releases the bobbin case from the hook race. Depending on the model of your Singer sewing machine, this may be a lever, a button, or a latch.
5. Use your finger or a small screwdriver to press or move the lever, button, or latch to release the bobbin case from the hook race.
6. Gently pull the bobbin case out of the machine.

If the bobbin case is still stuck, do not force it. Instead, seek assistance from a trained sewing machine technician or contact Singer customer support for further advice.

Try using cotton thread instead of common polyester thread.

There's only one way in putting bobbin case together. The case has a little hand to hold the case while bringing the bobbin to the case. Some machines have you put the bobbin in the case with the tread facing towards your left hand and others facing the right hand. While holding on the case there's a little arm that fits upward in place so the tread can be retreved from the upper tread. If this is not placed right the bottom tread will not work and your stitches will be abnormal. Always keep your instructions out so you can read them and keep your machine in good order.

Are you sure it needs a timing adjust? Please describe your observation of hook, needle and top thread.

Suggest you thoroughly clean the bobbin case and race area. Then lubricate the race as per instructions.

Could you check to see if that is the correct model number? I cannot find anything on a Singer 9420.

try changing the needle
the bobbin case may need to be replaced or the hook and hook
race may also need to be checked to see if there is something wrong
with them.

Put the bobbin into the case so the thread is feeding clock wise and through the guide on the case.

Lift the lever to hold the bobbin in place.

Insert the bobbin case into the race/shuttle, still holding the lever out.

Align the finger on the bobbin case with the opening in the race/shuttle.

You may have to turn the bobbin case a bit to the left or right for it to line up.

Once it clicks into place it should work without any further problems.

The hook and race is part of the area that the bobbin sits in, the bobbin sits in the bobbin case, the bobbin case sits in the raceway commonly known as the hook
