I had this problem a couple of times. Turned out the battery didn't have enough juice. At least that's what worked for me.

Can't turn on my mp3 player. I have tried to hold the volume buttom but it does not turn on at all.

what type of mp3 player ?

Charge your MP3 player.

The battery might just be dead, in which case letting it charge for a few hours corrects the problem.

Plug the USB data cable into the USB port on the MP3 player and insert the other end into one of the USB ports on your computer.

In a moment, the computer states that it has detected the removable device.

Sometimes the MP3 player needs to update itself, and it can only do so while connected to a computer.

When the MP3 player detects the computer, it attempts to connect to the Internet and retrieve any system updates available for the device.

Replace the battery.

The battery is usually the first part of the MP3 player to go (especially after excessive use). Although you can manually change the battery on most MP3 players, you need to send your

Apple products (iPod, iPod Nano, iPod Touch, iPhone) into the company so they can change the battery for you.

Purchase a new MP3 player.

If your MP3 player has received any sort ofwater damage, it is not going to turn on at all and there is nothing you can do to fix the issue.

hope this helps

I bought a sylvania mp3 smpk4083 mp3 player and it orgianlly worked with my computer, but now when I connect it to my computer it turns on my player, but won't be regonized by my computer? How do

Same thing happened to me with an IPOD. When I plugged it in to one of my USB ports, it ******** up all the USB ports. I suggest reinstalling the drivers for your USB Ports. Then install the software that came with your MP3 Player before replugging it in. Good luck :)

When you plug the reader in to recharge is a red light supposed to come on until charged? How do you know when it is fully charged?

Yes, the red light should be turned ON after connecting the Reader to te Computer. That means the Reader is taking charge. After getting it fully charged, the red light will be turned ON. If those things will not happen to your reader, perform the below mentioned stepos::
1. Connect the Reader to a different USB port of the Computer. 2. Connect the Reader directly to the USB port of the Computer; dont use any USB hub or adaptor to connect the Readr to the Comp. 3. Disconnect the Reader and then press the RESET button. 4. Try connecting the Reader to a different Computer to check whether the USB port of the Computer is working properly. 5. If the issue still persists, service may be required. Follow the below link to initiate the repair: http://eservice.sony.com/

My mp3 doesnt connect into my usb it just disconnects and starts to charge can you help me

I assume from your description that either you are running a version of Windows older than XP/2000 or you need a special driver. Here is a link for the driver(s) you will need. Just enter your model number and select your version of Windows. Download and run the file and you should be up and running shortly.

My sanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player will not charge anymore. At least not on the computer I'm on. I have had it hooked up to charge for 2 days now and nothing. Why is this and how can I charge it?

This is direct from the sansa FAQs at http://www.sansa.com/support/sansa_clip/faqs 02. Why won’t my Sansa Clip charge when I connect it to my computer? USB Cable
Make sure that the USB cable is properly plugged in and use the original cable.

Computer in Hibernation mode
Make sure that the computer isn’t entering hibernate or sleep mode while the device is connected. The computer must be on in order to charge your player.

USB Port 2.0
Make sure your player is connected USB 2.0 port (1.1 occasionally causes charging problems).

USB Port location
Try plugging in different USB port (i.e. USB port in the back of the computer); sometimes the front USB ports have problem charging up the device.

Battery
Make sure the battery is fully charged. It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery.

Latest firmware
Make sure to update firmware by downloading and installing the Sansa Firmware Updater.

I hope this helps, and don't forget to rate the answer.

Still messed up.

hi yes it should be in recovery mode when doing this
does the firmware tell you when to connect the mp3 player to computer once in recovery mode open firmware file then when it asks to connect then plug into your comp if it dont work this way then plug into comp before opening firmware file give this way a try also.
But the mp3 player needs to be in recovery mode whilst doing this

if this still dont work then try a different usb port failing this then their is a problem with either the cable or usb port or conection on mp3 check cable and connections at both ends make sure no dirt or paper is stuck in mp3 end ok

Let me know what happens ok

Infitek mp3

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Worked first then boot error now comp wont pick it up

Hi, you can try to upgrade the player's firmware, you can download it from the RCA Website (moz-screenshot.jpgmoz-screenshot-1.jpghttp://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads.aspx?product=187), the firmware it's the second app listed.
If your computer doesn't recognize the player, you'll have to turn it off and keep "PLAY" pressed for 10 seconds while connecting it to the USB port, then update the firmware.

Cant connect to usb port

the connection to your gogear will be smaller than the usb to your pc, it's the same with all peripherals, you should have been supplied a cable with it, standard usb one end and a thinner or squarer conection at the player, see below for examples http://www.directusbstore.com/cnb/shop/directusbstore?op=catalogue-products-null&prodCategoryID=55
