Problem with 20" philips magnavox

My regulator, horizontal output transistor and r432 were all burnt out. after replacing these components, the tv powers up but there is no picture. there is a neon lamp close to the flyback which glows brightly. i guess it is indicating a fault in this circuit. what do you think is wrong...is it my flyback transformer?

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

I loss the horisontal regulator of my philips tv with 25pt463a/7ir model

Hello
You are talking about the horizontal output transistor damage I assumes and post this solution. If LOT has internal winding short, the horizontal output transistor will get shorted. It will be best to replace the horizontal output transistor, alongwith the LOT

My Sony Trinitron stand by/timer light is on and will let me put tv on but only stays on for a few seconds . Model #KV27S66 Oct 99

Your TV has an overload due to some faulty components inside it. This type of fault is usually noted with overheating of horizontal output transistor connected to LOT of the TV. This may be due to LOT fault, or fault to the transistor itself. When it overheats, it put a short between supply rail, and the power supply regulator system inside your TV will detect that short and will shut down automaticaly. Please note; if the TV works after some time, say after 15 or 20 minutes; and again shuts down after working for a short period, and the cycle repeats, surely there is a winding short inside LOT, which cannot be detected by normal multimeter measurments. If it is so, replace LOT and the horizontal output transistor at the same time.

GET SOUND BUT NO CLEAR PICTURE ONLY HORIZONTAL LINES form bottom to middle black blur lines

Video output section of your tv is in trouble. Either it not gets proper voltage [low voltage if voltage is there]; or video output Ic or transistors whichever used may got damaged. Never switch on the tv in this condition; that picture tube may get damaged. Get it repaired soon.

Screen oversize picture

Hello sidley,

The problem you described might be "blooming" This happens due to poor HV (High Voltage) regulation. The problem might be with the High Voltage Transformer and or the Horizontal Output Transistor.
The problem might also be related to the associated circuitry of the two components.

I hope this helps
Thank you,
