Question about LG Flatron F700P 17" CRT Monitor
I have a flatron L1751S and every few minutes the screen goes dim and I have to restart the monitor just to see things again. Is there anyw aay to fix this? what is a lamp controler?
I have a Gateway FPD1975W. I tried turning the brightness down but it kept blacking out. The lower I got the more it did it. I turned the brightness up and it stopped. At least you got me looking in the right area. Thanks. RICK

I recently had a similar problem with a MAG LCD monitor. Try the following to see if this resolves your problem: - set brightness to a lower level. On LCD monitors you can go as low as 0 and still see the screen. With my problem when I set the brightness below 70% the problem went away. A few days later I turned it all the way up to 100% and the problem did not return. However I did not continue to keep it at that level. I found no need for it and find 50% to be exceptable for my needs. I would say yes it does have something to do with the lamp controler which controls the lamp brightness. I do not know all the technical reasons why a controler starts to have this sort of problem. If your monitor is still under warranty I would take advantage of the free repair otherwise keep the brightness below the level that causes the problem; for me that was under 70 percent. I hope this solution works for you. Perhaps there are others that can give you all the technical reasons why a controler starts to exhibit this behavior. Sincerely, Dean Kenneth Robinson

My sister's monitor wont turn on at all. She was shutting her system down due to a storm rolling in, and it said windows shutting down installing updates, while she is shutting it down. She turned it on today and the little light came on then it went off and hasn't been on since then. The Tower works fine but the monitor isnt turning on at all. What should she do? She has had the monitor at least 2 years no more then 2 1/2 years! And it is a LG Flatron 20". HELP
