Scrolling lines in the picture

I bought this Hitachi Ultravison 53 inch TV in 1998. It was working good all these days without any problem. Of late the scrolling lines appear when watching the television. If I shut down the TV for 10 minutes and turn it on afetr sometime, the scrolling lines don't appear

The capacitors in the sweep supply and maybe in the main power supply are starting to dry up. Your going to need to get a tech to go over the boards and search out the dryed capacitors. It will take some time and maybe a bit costly. May want to think maybe about a new set? Good Luck

Anyone know

Usually this occurs when the Convergence ICs go bad along with some chemical fuses mounted on the deflection board. E994 usually blows along with the Horizontal out transistor going bad. This transistor, I believe is Q777 that usually goes bad. The fuses are either tiny little yellow fuse with a red band or green with a yellow band depending on your model number
