I have a SONY home theatercrackling from surrond sound - 4.gif system, HT-C800DP, there is a crackling sound when playing DVDs - it is almost as if the unit overheats. Is there any solution to this? Sometimes I cannot even finish a DVD as the noise gets very loud.
Thanks,
Cindy

Some of my speakers arn't playing sound on my HT-E555OW

If you are trying to play a cd, you must manually tell the unit to play it in surround sound. Cd audio defaults to stereo only. Does it do the same thing if you are playing a dvd? If it happens on dvd's as well, then something in the speaker setup menu is wrong.

How do you run your tv sound thru the unit

If your tv has an audio output, use that. If it doesn't, then you will have to use the audio out of the cable or satellite box.

My video out on my home theater system wont work.

your reciver probabily wont pass progressive through it, Hook the audio from the box to your reciever, and the video directily to your tv, thats a better way to do it anyway, your tv has alot better video prossesor than your reciver , or hook both audio and video to your tv, and run audio output from your tv to the reciver
