Here is the response I got for tripod parts:
********************* The panhandles you need for the cost $5.95 each + $4.40 shipping and handling. The item #'s are TP1-62099-33001 and TP1-62099-33002. For two the total would be $16.30.

You can send a check or money order made out to ToCad America or you can call with a Visa, American Express or Mastercard number. Our address and phone number are listed below.

SOURCE: need a quick release plate for Dynex tripod 60

The Velbon QB-4W Quick-Release Camera Platform is a nearly identical replacement for the plates that come with the Dynex DX-TRP60 tripod. You should have had a spare in the bottom of the tripod bag when you bought the unit. The Velbon QB-4W is available at many on-line sources for about $5.95.

Good luck,

Swarf

they don't have that model listed, but they seem willing to try. Several people are thanked for finding out which plate fit which tripod.

I need a replacement for the part that holds the camera on the tripod. Its the square piece with a screw. the tripod number is V-2400GX

It's called a Quick Release Plate and they come in different sizes and shapes. V-2400GX is an older model made by Vivitar right? A Vivitar QB-4w Quick Release is the closest replacement available I do believe. QR-3 and QR-2 are rare as far as I know, you might find one in a resale shop someplace. I hope this helps!

Once the camera is attached to the tripod, how do I remove the plate with camera still on it?

There should be a release button or lever at the back or bottom of the top plate to release the quick release
