Question about Rio Carbon MP3 Player

My Rio MP3 player will not stay on... everytime i try to turn it on, it will turn off then (without me doing it) start up again, turn off, and repeat that same ritual again and again. I have tried to fix it by taking out the battery and keeping it out for more than a couple days but still the same thing. Please fix my problem

1.Connect to the computer and backup whatever music you have. 2.Go to my computer and figure out which drive your Rio is. Click on the drive. 3. Now you should see an Internal Drive icon. Right click and press format. 4. Now it should work fine, reload the music and enjoy.

It says "upgrader" because it is looking for a firmware upgrade - you will not be able to get rid of this message without doing the firmware upgrade - go to the rio website and follow the instructions for doing a fimrware upgrade - the msg will be removed, and you will be good to go

Stuck in upgrader mode. Try resetting by inserting a small #1 paperclip in the player. Otherwise, go to the Rio website at realnetworks and download the firmware upgrade.

Unit will not stay turned on.
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

You would literally have to break it open with a screwdriver or wedge, smashing/damaging other components in the process (trust me, I did it).
