Hi my name is rob and i have a problem i hope someone can help me with. A while ago i stepped on my tv remote and on my screen of the tv came up child lock on.( the remote i have is not the original that came with the tv. ) So anyways i tried press everybutton on my remote but i cant get the lock off. can any1 help me to get the lock off this tv. I cant change the channell or anything. Someone please help.

Hai this is Shiva,I also suffer from same problem (Child Lock).But it happens while using the original remote.I can't find the remedy for this problem.Mine is a KORYO brand T.V , Can u solve this problem.U can mail me to [email protected]. yes, i too have same problem, but permanant child lock is on accidentally,while I am operatting manually, as my KORYO tv remote is not working.
I fully vexed with this problem.

Sorry man The only way I know to unlock it is with the original remote. They are available at http://www.remotes.com You have to press the M or Mute button and the F or the Function button at the same time. If the remote you have has these buttons try them. Like I said if it doesnt work, you will need an original remote. See if anyone you know has one you can borrow or the store where you bought the TV, maybe they will let you borrow one. Good Luck

Possibly, you will need an original remote to disable or turn off this feature. And some child lock can be accessible through neither MENU of your tv or remote. Check CHILD LOCK option to remove it. If it is a screen lock type of CHILD LOCK feature of tv (a Blue Background display a LOCK icon) and your original remote is lost, try a universal remote for you to possibly unlock it. Bring Up TV Menu ; Power on the television with the activated child lock on. Push
the "Menu" button on the remote control. A series of features appears on
the screen, ranging from the overall TV functions to the video display
and the audio setup features ,Choose "Options" and a new menu
appears on the screen. From the new menu select "Child Lock." The exact
setup selection is going to vary slightly, although the child protection
is always referred to as either "Child Lock" or "V-Chip." The V-chip is the actual chip built into the television that blocks out certain television programming.
Try
a "factory reset" action... This should be somewhere in the TV
menu system. However Please note that will clear everything, so you may need to
re-program every things..the channels etc.
Hold the lock key in the remote for few seconds . you will get the lock tool bar . you can unlock it there
Hold the display button on the remote for 10 seconds.

i found out on line in the owners manual that if u still have a remote control that came with the tv, u press the tv/av button and enter button at the same time to disable the child lock. New problem: u can't do it with a universal remote, even if its programmed to a magnavox tv. I called the 800 # to buy a remote control and the rep told me that it cost $50, not including the shipping and handling. so my husband put the tv in the car, brought an extension cord and took it to a local tv repairman who was kind enough to use his remote to remove the child lock for us. finally someone who is helpful for free. thanks to all the nice people out there!
frist see if the control panel on your tv works, if so then check and see if the eye on your tv is dirty sometimes they are hard to get to i took my pocket knife and cleaned mine or air in can should work. when the eye gets dirty on the tv it won't respond to the remote. hope this helps
my AKAI tv is locked. All i see is a blus screen with a little red lock on the bottom left corner! the only button that works on the tv OR remote is the power button on the remote. PLEASE HELP i have tried pushing every button but nothing happens
