Question about Sony KP-57WS500 57" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Sony KP-57HW40 Hello, I would like to know if you could help me out with certain parts for the Sony KP-57HW40. I have been having trouble with the projection. When I turn my television on, the screen turns off by itself after 5 or so minutes. When the screen is on, there is a yellow colored "C" like projection on the television screen. I was wondering if you could possibly let me know what is causing this. Also, if possible, could you let me know what the part numbers are if there are any parts that is needed to be replaced. Thank you for your time and any help is appreciated.

SONY KP-57HW40 TUNS OFF AND STANDBY LIGHT BLINKS 6 TIMES

6 blinks is usually associated with failure of the horizontal deflection amplifier - which shuts down the high voltage system as well.

The repair requires testing to determine the exact parts that have failed. There are, for example, a few hundred parts and a section of the Jungle IC chip involved. So, repairs could require something as simple as replacing some inexpensive passive components OR as complicated as replacing the jungle chip (very expensive).

most of the time it's the horz. transformer and transistor.
