One time a cd got stuck. I was able to get it out. But since, then, only an occasional cd will work in it. Most cds, originals and copies, when put into the player, say error, and won't play.
Get yourself a cd cleaner and clean the cd. then try another cd. if this does not work and if under the warranty take to the shop.
Try the following: get a can of the dust spray can and spray into the cd. if you have the manual see what formats the cd will take. also you can go to google and search for your year and make like 96 dodge van and take a look and see if anyone else have the same problem. you can even try your mechanic that you take it to. If you are getting errors it could be that the eye of the cd is not reading. it is like your cd in your computer or if you have a ps2 video game that also says disk error. you can also try to make sure that the wires or the connection is plugged into the cd. get a long cotton swab or cuetip that has cotton on it, and see if you can clean the eye. if you can get it out of your van and take the top off you should see the eye. Clean with alcohol with a cuetip. Hopefully this would work. But you might wanna check the prices on a new cd or go to a junk yard and get one. Hope this helps.

I can't use a cd cleaner because nothing will play in the car cd player. And it is in a 96 Dodge van so it isn't under warranty and can't go back to a shop.
