Hi,
The I2C message that you get means the Inter IC communication bus on the system board has gone bad. Replacing the IC would not solve the problem.Philips patented this technology to reduce the number of ICs on the systemboard.There would be a physical I2C chip on the motherboard.

I would suggest update the firmware on the board, or try replacing the I2c interface controller chip.

If the remote is infrared (IR), you'd need the codes if the Verizon remote is not a 'learning' remote - in other words, facing the two to each other and transmitting/receiving between them. So, assuming the Verizon is not a learning remote, you'd need the IR codes. Some can be found in the back of users manuals but if not, contact the manufacturer and ask for the codes. They'll usually send them to you in a file.

If I understand your issue, you press play and the player does not recognize the disc, the optical pickup may be defective. I suggest you contact an Authorized Adcom Service Center. For further questions, contact Adcom directly.

Are you sure the fuses located on a PCB below the opened drawer are all OK? Otherwise you likely have a mechanical issues and I suggest you contact an Authorized Adcom Service Center.
