PLTV-32 We have a 32" LCD PROTRON PLTV-32 - We have audio but no video. We have tried the test of dimming lights, shining flashlight into display and we do see display on the screen. Our TV continues to come on after turning off/on several times (sometimes it takes hours; sometimes minutes-when we are lucky). Our problem is, we have been told by some that there are no "bulbs" and others tell us to "replace the bulb". If we have a "flat screen" is there a bulb? If so, where can we order one for this TV? If there is not a bulb, what exactly do we need to replace (backlight inverter?) and where do we get it? Our TV is out of warranty and there are absolutely no local technicians that can help us. Protron says to send the TV out to them but we are afraid the display will not make it (it seems so fragile).

Have you asked proton about the bulb or inverter or power supply. Proton is going to be the only place to get them. Soory to have to tell you but proton doesnt have good customer service.

Hi i have a Protron, PLTV-3250 32" LCD. The tv was working fine last night and this morning it will not turn on? Do you know what could be wrong?

If you still have the red standby light on the front then the backlight is probably not turning on. Shine a flashlight on the screen and look for a faint image of the picture.
If therre is no red standby light on the front then your power supply is not providing 5 volt and you need to replace it. Part # is FSP194-0301.

Hi jzucal, I will be happy to help. We need to check the backlight. While you have audio take a flashlight and shine it on the screen. Hi jnks2005, We need to check your backlight, while tv is on and you have sound, take a flashlight and shine it on the screen, look very close and see if you can see a dark video image, If so you have a bad backlight inverter. You can try to unplug your tv for a couple of hours and let it reset but it is most likely the inverter. Let me know what you see and I can help you locate parts and instruct the replacement.
