Camera lens comes out and goes back in when I turn it on.
If I turn the camera on, the lens comes out fully, stalls, then goes back in. It comes out one more time, stalls and goes back in another time. Then it turns off. I've tried new batteries and everything, it still happens. While the lens is going out and in, the screen is blank, and the red camera light is on.

Have your camera battery been charged fully?
It seems problem about battery or the lens
If your battery are AA batteries please note the battery type of the battery if your camera support
If the battery is OK, there maybe something wrong with the lens
I have the similar problem, I turn on the camera and after the lens comes out , red light blink all this time, and suddenly it powers down without retracting the lens back in.
The battery are fully charged AA 2400mah / 2650mah Duracell at 4.0 ma with load test. I was wondering if there is any circuitry problem.? Any experts in digital camera electronics please respond?
To bring back the lens back in for safekeeping i trik this, i turn it on while it is reading the memory etc and after a sec or two i turn the knob to off, this way lens goes back inside.
I have read other brands also have their cameras lens sticking out and never going back inside.
Hi there. Face the camera towards the floor and firmly tap the back of the camera while turning it on, this should hopefully free the lens so it can open, make sure that the batteries are fully charged or at least new.
