Hi, i cant upload anything to my gigabeat it says, upload or restore portal media center using pc application i need some serious help with it. this message comes up after connecting it to the pc.
Apparently you have to restore the firmware. Download the zip file from http://www.aibohack.com/giga/repair_gigabeat.zip I found it on http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19406 site.
Read the "read me" and follow the instructions. Got mine magically fixed!
Shut the unit down completely by switching off the battery on the bottom. then switch it back on and hold down the left arrow key and the windows button simultaneously. it will ask you to do a few steps where you can either erase the hard drive on the unit and start fresh ( i did this and it worked amazingly), or you can choose to update the firmware like the person above suggested. this did not work for me. so basically if you erase everything its like having the unit new again. please tell me if this helps.

Nothing in the user manual helps. When I connected it to my PC, I couldn't sync any songs on it, there was an error. I called toshiba and they just referred me to a electronic place to fix it (for $114.95!). But i feel like there is a easier way to reset and restore.
Please help!
i tried to enter debug mode by holding left and windows while swithching on (turning the battery switch off then on again) but nothing happens
