Paper jam cartridge area

If it's a new printer, you may be using incompatible media. If the paper stops so that part of it is past the toner drum and part of it is before the toner drum, then the feed-roller assembly is not feeding properly. If the paper stops at the fuser, then the fuser rollers are not picking up the paper the way they should.

If there is toner on the paper, or part of it, but it just stops before it reaches the output tray, the output rollers are probably worn. If the printer sat unused for a long time, the rollers can dry out and not grip the paper correctly.

If the paper doesn't make it into the printer at all, the feed roller and separations pad are bad. I hope this helps.

When i click print the paper feeds fromright side and jams.

if your paper feed not straight, most probably the feed roller.. the roller which feed the paper is broken.. the normal broken area is the tip holding the roller, it can be repaired if you know how to open the printer and remove the roller.. you can always drill a small hole and insert a small round wood piece..
to be sure, try feeling the roller with your hand first.. if there is much free space between the roller and lower part.. then most probably it's broken..

Line feed problems. give 1/2 line feed. document feed sounds like it needs 'oil'

While HP may use a little white grease on some plastic gears, oil is not normally used. Most likely some debris such as paper dust, or part of a label, or a stray staple is jamming the mechanism.

If it's all clean, then I would look closely for a damaged gear of some sort.

Most printers rely on rubber feed rollers of some sort to pick the paper from the paper tray, then more rubber rollers to pull the paper through the mechanism. If the printer is relatively new, the rubber rollers should be in good condition. As the printer ages, these get less rubbery and more slippery, and wear out, leading to feed problems. Further, any contaminant such as oil, white-out, or a sticker on the feed rollers will render them useless. Printer technicians change a lot of these rubber rollers.

Hi! The paper won't feed to print..what am I doing wrong please? We have tried new paper' older'less'and more' the roller part just will not grab!

Check paper feed machism.Ensure that the feed roller is rotating when you command print.See also that there is no obstraction in the paper path.Sometimes there could be a foreign pacticle. Also try to clean feed roller so that there is friction between paper and roller.

Paper Jam

We need to the model/make to help you

but using some detective skills I've decided you are using a HP machine

Yup Dirty damaged worn feed roller but what model machine is it they are all different but pull out tray 2 cassette all the way and look in, there is probally a cylinder like rubber roller 5cm wide front centre of where cassette slides in, there might be roller on the cassette too at the front center as well.

Most modern printers feed rollers just slide off after lifting small plastic tabs on them and gently pulling, feed rollers are available but you can sometimes also get results by cleaning them with a dash of metho or water on a rag.

If paper feeds 2wo sheets at once then you need to change the seperation pad/roller too.
