Hello
Internet access on your mobile or mobile broadband is possible by connecting via GPRS (General Packet Radio Service). GPRS 2.5G is a packet-switching service. It allows you to access the Internet by sending packets of data over the Internet. You can send and receive email with GPRS. It supports WAP, SMS text messaging and other data communications. When you click on the Web icon on your mobile phone, you get connected to the Internet. For the internet setting/configuration on your mobile you may contact your mobile service provider by calling on help line or visiting their nearest office.
Hope it helps if so do rate the solution

many mobile phone companies dont provide drivers for linux.
But there is a software i would personaly recommend to you. Actually its not a software, its a shell script. Name of software is "Sakis3g". It can connect to mobile phones and other mobile devices which can be detected by linux kernel. You can use IR, Bluetooth, even USB cable to connect to your device.
You can use this software for the following
connect to mobile devices by IR, bluetooth, USB Cable
Send and receive files between computer and device
Access Internet from Device by Dial Up Networking
Browse files on Mobile device
Mount the mobile device on a user specified mount point or communication port. usually it mounts connected mobile device to /dev/rfcomm0. Through this port, you can communicate with the device .
Connect to USB Modem (Like Reliance DataConnect, TATA Photon, IDEA Netsetter etc.)
ability to connect to any locked/unlocked USB internet Modems (Zero Devices)
fully automated connection setup. No manual input is needed except to specify connection name.
You can find more details and download Sakis3g from this address http://www.linuxconfig.org/mobile-broadband-connection-and-sakis3g
Hi,
You cannot send messages because the message centre number stored in your mobile may be wrong.
Please enter the correct message centre number. To get the correct message centre number please call your service provider and they will provide you the number.
Thank You
The unlimited messaging feature does not include internet and picture messaging requires internet to be able to send/receive. You need to call AT&T and see if you have an internet feature or go to www.wireless.att.com and register your mobile number and see if you have an internet feature. If not then that is why it is not working
Hello... The option of sending a mms(multi media msg) doesn't entirely depend on the mobile you use.You should first activate the MMS service by calling the customer care of your service provider. Then the recipient [the person you wish to send] should have a mobile which supports MMS and he should also activate the service on his part.
Still if you are unable, post me.
to connect to the internet & to send & receive pic messages you must activate the GPRS first from your network provider ...The best thing you can do is to contact the customer care of your network provider and ask for the GPRS settings ... they will tell you the procedure to activate it .... they will tell the number to which the message to be sent to recieve the settings .... so note that down and then follow the procedures told by them ... to send and receive the MMS you must activate the GPRS first make sure of the charges with them there will be many plans & then get activated ... after this you will able to send and receive the pic messages ...
