Your internal battery is dead. Its just a little watch battery that needs to be replaced.

What is wrong with my samsung galaxy s3?

Before buying anything, back up your S3 data using Samsung Kies. Then do a factory reset.. followed by a data restore..
firmware updates can cause problems until the handset is reset, as parts of the previous firmware are still in use..
You should notice an improvement after this... mine went from half a day, to almost 2 days usage, just by doing this after a firmware update.

I would definitely connect to a computer, then copy everything to a folder. Even if you have to reset your phone, you can always put your data back in later.
