Hi! i found this site however I couldn't find any information about my particular problem or model.
I have a Sylvania SRPD442 42" that I just bought a few weeks ago used, from ebay however it came with a problem that I knew already it had it, however I never thought it was going to appear again as the seller told me to. Anyways...
What happens to the tv is the following:
After 2 o 3 hours of usage... 2 one inch lines will flipp from top to bottom so is like a mirrow that you see... I have to turn it off several hours and it goes back to normal...
I don't know how serious is this problem...
Maybe an overheating problem?

Guess what you may have hit the nail on the head. Plasma TV used a balast type power system for the backlighting and that is what you are hearing. I would suggest getting this set looked at to see if the plasma excitor needs to be replaced (it may have another name in this brand of set).
