Question about Epson Stylus C84 InkJet Printer

Red Light won't go out!

The red light on my printer came on so I did the ink level check and found that I was out of "Cyan." I had a new cyan cartridge on hand and installed it making sure that the number of the new cartridges are matching the ones listed on the Epson web page for the C84. Also, making sure that I heard and felt a distinct "click," when the cartridge was installed. After doing so, the message on the computer said that it was "initializing" Please wait. I waited for approx. 5 minute and then turned the printer off and back on.......still a red light. I installed a new magenta and yellow cartridge (no black on hand) and still a red light. I double checked my connections from computer to printer and they are good. I have tried printing out but it will not print. The red light is still on. Thinking that the problem might be that I need a new black cartridge installed I went to Epson Utilities to do the ink level test and it would not take me to that portion of the directions as it did earlier.

Why too much yellow and red no greens or blues ?

Inkjet printers use additive pigments. CMYK, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. It sounds like you're not getting any Cyan ink to the paper. Either your printer is out of Cyan ink, or your Cyan print head is clogged.

Go into your printer's Properties and run a Nozzle Check. It will print a series of lines with each color. There will probably be a big empty space where it tried and failed to print Cyan. You can try cleaning the print heads, but if you're getting NO Cyan that is unlikely to work.

If you're lucky, your printer is one of the ones that the print heads are built into the ink cartridge so replacing the cartridge will resolve the problem. If you're not, you might need to get it serviced (or probably more cost effective, buy a new printer).

When printing dark blue or purple, it came out as dark or light cyan. Please advice.

Don't know what type of printer you have since you did not supply that info. But it sounds like the magenta or red ink/toner is not working on your machine. Since purple is made from using blue and red. Since you are only getting a cyan or blue color, the printer is not outputing the red. Check the red toner/ink cartridge to see if it is empty. Hope this helps.

Espson Stylus D92 not recognising cartridge change

Do replacement procedure, follow How to.. on status monitor. When asked to replace ink tank, unplug all ink tanks, and plug only cyan ink tank. Next....next.. Finish. See status monitor. Is cyan recognized (Not cross sign)? If yes, repeat procedure, without unplugging, plug others 1 by 1.
If no, check for chip connector (for cyan) at carriage, or try to use another cyan ink tank.

After cyan ran out, installed new cartrige. Printer produced everything colored blue as red. Purchased new cyan cartrige and the problem recurred.

The problem seems from your new cyan cartridge.
It doesnt print cyan ink.
Try to clean print head and test print for each color
from the utility menu

Cyan Cartridge not working

Show empty or not recognized (cross sign)? Check connector at chip and at head carriage. Do replacement procedure form status monitor (how to..). Do replacement ink tank one by one with cyan ink first.

Replaced a new cyan cartridge for Epson 1400. Printer ignored it.

Ye of course it could be faulty and Epsons are sometimes very fussy about using third party carts. Get it replaced at your store, try a different brand or buy a genuine Epson cart if you can afford it.

First, check ink level information in printer status monitor windows. Does message ink low appear in status monitor?. It could be the cyan ink has run out. Please replace the cartridge with new one

Ink cartridge lights blinking

That is happening because you have "smart" chips on your cartridges, so even though you know there is still some ink left in the tank, if the chip says stop, the printer will stop printing. There is a way to bypass that and that is by using a re-setter. You can either buy one or ask to re-set your cartridge in a refill shop.
You can also try holding the "resume" button (triangle in circle for about 10 seconds for each cartridge, sometimes doing that resets the cartridges.
Do not refill the magenta and cyan cartridges if they are not empty, you'll just be wasting your money. Better use it to buy a re-setter ;)
