Thin Black lines going down my screen, sony Wega Ke-42TS2
I have a sony Wega Ke-42TS2 and there are about 10/15 black lines going down the screen. It appeared when we came back from holidays. They're very thin and in the beginning they were flicking on and off, and where changing from white to black. But they're perment now. They are bunched together aswell with all lines spanning about 2 inches across the tv. It kinda looks like someone bent the screen, like the winkles along the spine of a book.
Any help would be nice.

Re: Thin Black lines going down my screen, sony Wega...
These sets are common for bad connections on the ribbon cables connecting the screen to the drive printed circuit board. Or the drive circuit could have a bad drive scan IC. I doubt that but possible. Your going to need to call an AUTHORIZED sony repair servicer to trouble shoot this for you cause any other shop may not have a clue of this problem. Good Luck

Sounds like your TV is giving out, plain and simple.
If this doesn't sound right, then only one thing comes to mind. Have you moved the TV recently? Are you using a different coax cable, (if using cable that is). If so, just change the cable back to the previous one and you should be fine.
hi all .ive had the same problem,a thick black line down
screen.sometimes it flickers from top to bottom and other permantly in
view.but i have solved it.forget your ic boards and taking apart tv.have
you got either a ps3 or wii connected to tv.if so unplug power lead
from socket and relocate in seperate socket.make sure the lead is
completely free of any other leads and you might just find this works.i
think the power lead creates some sort of frequency that the tv picks up
.good luck hope it works
This TV has a very expensive panel... we are talking $3000 core charge alone! It comes complete with all the lower buffer boards (which from the sound of it, you are having a problem with). Individual boards for this defect are not available on repair parts list I know of. A panel is what you need, PN: 9-885-063-33
For the last week my TV has been going to a black screen for 10 seconds or so then the picture returns. It has been continual. Last night it stopped going to black screen, but now the standby light flashes 5 consecutive times and the color went haywire. A lot of red and everything that is suppose to be black is green.
I did a soft and hard reset with no success. What's wrong and is it worth fixing? Bought new in November 2002.
The line appearing on your screen is probably the result of a connection problem on one of the address buffers located on the top and bottom section of the panel. These buffers feed the data signal to the panel to "address" which pixels should light and for how long. The other cause would be a bad display panel in which case the entire panel would have to be replaced, this is normally NOT the case. I hope this helps you. Good Luck.
