Screen is completely blank but the power light clicks on an off making a very faint on/off sound. Set is two years old and worked perfectly just hours before the problem started.
I have tried plugging an unplugging. I removed the surge protector and plugged it directly into wall. All other compenents work fine on plug and surge protector. Removed DVD, VCR and antenna--no, don't have cable but get all major channels with rabbit ears :). Anyway, unhooked everything and tried TV on all alone with no luck.
I have a technician scheduled to come look at it in three days for $75 (I cannot lift or transport unit).

sounds like you have a back light problem. To verify this, turn on the set, dim the lights in the room, and shine a bright flash light on the screen. If you see the faint picture on the screen, you have a back light problem. You could either have a shorted inverter that is pulling down the 24vdc line, a blown CCFL back lamp, a high voltage short (arcing) from one of the inverter outputs, or a faulty 24vdc power supply
Is the screen completely blank or can you see a very, very faint image on the screen if you turn it to the light?if so, it could be the backlight at fault on your screen. This could be the TFT panel at fault or the screen inverter board that makes the backlight wor
You have to disable the hibernation mode. Sounds like this is the problem. Go to Start - Control Panel - Performance and Maintenance - Power Options - click on Hibernate tab and uncheck where it says Enable Hibernation. This should fix the problem. Cheers
Make sure you set up your laptop to display to a second screen. Depending on your Operating system, go to your display properties and go to the settings tab. Then click on the second monitor and enable it.
Does the lcd screen have a glow to it ? Or is it really dim if u get real close to screen u can see images moving ?
it it has a glow to it you panel lighting is fine but you control board is bad. If you have a dark screen and see faint images you panel back lighting is out u can check the power with a meter at the connection to inverter board on panel.
If it is a LCD TV, and there is a faint picture, it is probably the backlight or inverter board (probably the latter). This is a common problem (especially with PC monitors). Do an internet search for your model and inverter, you may be able to replace it. Make SURE you REMOVE the power lead before opening the set !!!!
