Question about Maytag Neptune MAH7500WH Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Washer Won't spin at full strength.

My Neptune Maytag frontloading machine spins some but not enough to extract the water from the clothes or the machine. Checked the pump. No clog. Any suggestions. Thanks C.

Anney, there has been so many service flashes on these Neptunes. One is the redesign of the motor and motor controller. What you are describing sounds like a defective motor control board. There are tests that can be made but you would have to know how to use a meter. If I had to make a call on this with out seeing the machine, I would tend to believe it is the motor control board. You might want to call Maytag and see if there is any service flashes that would address your problem. In looking up the model you posted, I see at least 13 issues they had in the design of this model...Catriver...post back.

My motor control board just went out after about 7 years. Appears to have been caused by water in the bottom of the washer because the incoming valves failed open so water flooded the laundry room.

Anyway, I was not real thrilled about paying $200+ for a new motor control board so I did a bit of troubleshooting and research. It appeared that the surface mounted device coming of pin #4 on the left front connector was fried. I made the assumption that this was either a fuse or acting like a fuse so I removed the tiny device (cannot identify it since the number was burned off the top, the first of three characters is a 4 if that helps). Then I made a solder bridge across the contacts it was soldered to.

After reinstalling the board the washer was spinning like a champ. I will try and find out what exactly this device is and replace it, but for now the washer is running as it did before. We do have other problems with the washer, such as a few control buttons not working, but it has been that way for years now. I guess when I bought Maytag for it's quality reputation I was completely deceived.

    Hope this helps

My clothes are wet at end on my maytag neptune washer machine

If you are spinning them on the highest setting try to put it on medium. Sometimes the highest setting is too fast and it will bang around and not spin properly. A lower setting will work better and the clothes will still come our dryer.

MAH3000AWW Does not spin fast enough on spin cycle Clothes are still full of water when done.

hi there ..sounds like your appliance is not spinning at all........(a) check if your drain pump is working correctly..(simply fill water and turn to drain)..(b) possiblity that the clutch drive mechanism is badly worn and needs replaced

What does the max extract feature do

If the washer is removing all of the water from the washer during the spin cycle it is likely working properly. Not an expert but I believe max extract causes the washer to spin for a slightly longer period of time in order to remove more water from the clothes. We use it regularly because our clothes come out to wet otherwise.

What will the Max Extract button do?

The max extract button will do an extra spin to get any & excess water out of the clothes. It is a good thing to keep on to help cut down on drying time. If you find standing water in the washer, it is possible the hose is NOT in the correct position.

Maytag neptune frot load will not reach full spin speed.

It will not spin while washing, it's more of a rocking back and forth. As far as the spin cycle. If it's not reaching full speed I bet you'll notice that it's not doing the full cycle because the load is bouncing around and cause the washer to shut off. take some of the clothes out and watch it spin the water out.

Washer spins but not enough to extract water from clothes or tub.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.
