Have HP deskjet 5150 But no start up disc

I was given a HP deskjet 5150 printer but there was no disc or papers with it , my computer is not recongnizing it is there anything I can do

If you didn't get any disc or manuals you can actually still get them at the hp.com website, here is the link for the driver downloads:

For Windows XP:

For downloading driver software, please visit the HP site page : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=304431. On this page, please select your OS and click next. Now, there will be option called "Driver - Product installation software" section, expand and select appropriate version you need to install and you will be taken to download page. Before installing, just remove previous software, if installed (recommended).

Hp deskjet 5150, ink carriage will not move, says there is a paper jam but there is not

Shut it down, remove power and USB cord.
Whilst in this state thoroughly check for paper debris in the paper track.
Then power up one more and do not connect USB
Try for test page[See your Manual]
