Error code: H 4 flashes.. Nothing works

That's basically it! The copier does NOT work and the characters H 4 flash alternately.

    WHat model is this? there should be two more Characters such as H4-00

    If you have an LED displaying H4 hold down the green button for a sec and if 00 flashes behind the H4 then you have a fuser unit problem..



    You can try to Clear the display of self-diagnostics with SIM 14



    Heat roller abnormally low temperature



    The setup temperature (about 90°C is not

    reached within the specified time (about

    35sec) from turning on the power ON SW.

    (When the temperature falls below 120°C

    in the standby mode.)



    Thermistor defect

    Heater lamp failure

    Thermostat failure



    Check the heater lamp blinking with SIM 5-2.

    When the lamp blinks normally:

    Check the thermistor and the harness.

H4 PRESS START KEY THERE WILL BI A SUB CODE LIKE 00.THAT IS HEATER UNIT TEMPERATURE PROBLEM.RESET IT BY THIS PROCEDURE.
PRESS CLEAR KEY,AUTO PHOTO MODE KEY,CLEAR ,AUTO PHOTO ,
COPIER DISPLAY DEAD 14 START KEY.

All 3 Error lights are flashing (4 if you count the GO button)!!
When all lights flash it's a service problem. You press and hold the go button and see what lights are on then.error light means main PCB failure, Toner light means fuser failure, drum light means laser failure. Toner and error light means main motor error, drum plus error light means its a fan failure.

1,power off.

2,hold stop/reset ,hold ON/OFF

2,release stop/reset, push stop/reset twice, quickly, then release ON/OFF

3,wait untill LCD display shows "Canon Idle",then push stop/reset four times, quickly

4,then push power twice, quickly

5,power off and power on.

Error code 5010
Yes, same thing happens to me...Error code 5010...and flashing green and orange...alternating lights.

I was trying to photocopy (in basic black, not colour). I had a few pages to copy. I got this 5010 Error code after EACH copy!

I had to turn off the printer after each copy and then turn it back on for the next copy. That's not the worse of it.....once I turned the printer back on and hit copy again...the printer took a VERY long time to scan the item for the next copy. It took me a good 40 minutes to copy 15 pages.
Sooooo irritating!!!!!

Anyone know what to do?

I've also had the paper jam on me tons of times. I am really disappointed with this product. I would not recommend this printer to anyone!
