The response by Lynnette is in reference to the power nozzle....if you are having this issue with the main unit, then it could be the armature is starting to go bad. Have your Rainbow in front of you and give us a call. We can walk you through some steps to narrow it down.
I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. From what you described, it sounds as if your machine has a blockage. The filter may also need a wash.
Although I note you already took it apart, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide to make sure you haven't missed anything:
In normal use, the filter needs to be washed at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. We'd recommend using cold water without detergent. Leave the filter somewhere warm to dry, such as in an airing cupboard or by a radiator, for at least 12 hours, and make sure you don't replace the filter in the machine before it's totally dry.
This should resolve the issue, but if you'd like any further assistance or advice, please give our customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).
Check the tips of the beater bar. I "bumped" mine to hard and broke a tip. Still worked! Just noisy. Called Dyson support and they sent me a new one no charge. Note. Mine had a loud whirring and a vibration.
Something could be jammed, or not rotating freely, maybe an improper alignment with the brushes, or a blocakage within them. Try to re adjust the brushes :)
I had the same problem when I first bought mine. I let it set for a while and did some online research. I can't remember the site I went to, but it said that this sweeper will shut off when overheated to protect it and will start back up later. I went back and turned mine back on and it was fine.
