Question about Shoprider Jimmie Power Wheelchair

I need to know how to wire the batteries together on my shoprider jimmie chair so they will charge

I need to know how the wiring works to connect two batteries so they will charge. My charger is a 24v 2amp and I wired the two batteries red to red and black to black. When I hook up the charger all the lights on the control flashes and when I unhook the charger and turn the chair on one red light flashes which means the batteries need charging but the batteries are new and have a full charge. A simple wiring diagram will help

If the charger is 24 volts and you have 2 12 volt batteries they have to equal 24 volts , so wire the batteries terminals red to black and connect the charger to the other terminals red to red and black to black.

You have to do this correctly or there's going to be a lot of smoke! The black wire is negative, the white positive and the green is ground. The 3-pin female XLR connector you refer to has the three pins where the charger plugs in. Position this connector to that when you look at it, the three pins form a V. The top two pins are directly across from each other, and the bottom pin is at the bottom of the V. The black wire goes to the top left pin, the white goes to the right top pin, and the green goes to the bottom of the V.

I have a Rascals 6 Runner 10" shoprider chair that was working when i was buying it and picking it up from my friend's house but as soon as i got it home and put it back together it doesn't work now.
Check to be sure the motor engagement levers are not in the push/disengaged position. If you can push it around then they need to be returned to the drive/engaged position. This should clear your problem.

Can I put higher Ah batteries in my Shoprider Streamer?
Absolutely. Let me explain what "Ah" means. "Ah" stands for Amp Hours. A 32ah battery will run a 1 amp motor for 32 hours...or a 32 amp motor for one hour...a 16 amp motor for two hours etc.. As long as the battery voltage is the same it's absolutely fine. As long as your chargers are the correct voltage, they'll be fine as well. So basically, the higher the "Ah", the longer the battery will last. This is why higher "Ah" batteries are more expensive. Hope this helps : )

I BOUGHT A USED JAZZY JET 3 ULTRA WITHOUT BATTERIES AND I HAVE BOUGHT 2 NEW BATTERIES BUT AM NOT SURE HOW THE WIRES HOOK TO THEM, IF THE 2 BATTERIES HOOK TOGETHER.
Locate the two wires from the circuit breaker attach one wire (black if marked) to the negative post of the rear battery and attach the other wire (red if marked) to the positive post of the front battery. Locate the two wires coming from the power module plug with a red and black wire. Attach the red wire to the rear battery positive post and the black wire to the front battery negative post. attach the joystick to the nine pin plug at the rear of the chair and turn it on. You should have power at the joystick and the chair should work. Disconnect the joystick put the shroud cover back on grease the seat post and reattach the seat then plug in the joystick and charger plug at the rear of the chair. Charge the batteries before use and charge them overnite for the next 20 days. If you use the chair daily charge your batteries everynite while you sleep unplug in the morning. If you don't use the chair daily charge at least once per week or after you use the chair. Always put the chair up fully charged if you are going to be out of the chair for an extended time the disconnect the batteries at the large plug going to the power module Hope this helps you

When you turn on the power chair an orange light roams accross the battery strength area. The batteries were old so I got a new set and charged it and I have the same problem. I connected the batteries...
On your batteries you should have four wires to connect to the batteries. Check that you have the two wires going to the circuit breaker connected to seperate batteries and that the black wire is on the negative post of one battery and the red or white wire going to the positive post of the other battery. If these are correct then make sure that the other black wire is connected to the negative post of one battery and the red or white wire is on the positive of the other battery. Also make sure that the charger is not plugged in when your are checking the connections. Now the scrolling could mean that the chair is in "freewheel" meaning you can push the chair easily. If it is not in free wheel then the joystick could be in lockout. If you have your manual it should explain how to get it out of sleep or lockout mode. the only other cause I know that could cause this is that the charger is still plugged in or that the chair thinks that the charger is plugged in I hope this helps if not let me know and we'll sctratch our heads together
