It appears I'm having the exact same problem that rozco was having with his HCJ552W. A friend of mine actually gave this TV to me with this problem. I was hoping perhaps I could fix it. I don't know if they actually had a power surge or not. From the way they described it to me is that it just turned off. Now, when I try to turn it on it behaves exactly as Rozco described in his post.
When reading the previous post by Rozco, Techman gives a solution but I'd like to know what the final outcome was. What did Rozco finally end up doing to get his TV working again? And how much did it cost?
I hate to appear as though I'm attempting to steal rozco's "thunder". Is there some way on this site where upon I can find his email and contact him? I would merely like to find out what is final outcome was, if he actually got it fixed or not? If got a technician to repair it or if he found a solution himself? If he did get a technician, was it expensive? would it have been a better idea simply to trash the TV rather than go through the trouble?I hate to appear as though I'm attempting to steal rozco's "thunder". Actually your question didn't gave me a good picture on what is the exact problem. Did you mean you can't send friend-requests anymore?
Well, this is not a critical problem. Some people on facebook simply send hundreds of friend requests to girls and boys - facebook is not actually a dating site - so Facebook needs to stop that.
As a quick solution, ask some of your real friends to send friend requests TO YOU. when you get more requests from others, you could send out! Plus, people whom you send requests must accept them in order to permit you to send more requests.
Hey i am having the same exact problem with my same exact tv. If you have already solved your problem I would love to know how u did it. I know you posted this a long time ago but if you havent gotten it fixed yet, if I fix mine i will let you know. Thanks.
I had a friend that had the exact same problem! We did use a remote to turn the tv on and then it was a matter of setting up the menu settings. It was trial and error, but it was worth it. As far as getting the power button replaced, I would recommend call and ask a TV repair person - but the remote worked just fine for my friend.
dear friend you have a power supply problem, get one of those cheap meters and open the set, look for a blown fuse, if they are ok wich i doubt, you have to call the repairman.
I need help resetting the lamp timer. Is there a way to reset the timer w/o the remote? We bought this tv as a floor model 4 yrs ago and they didn't have the actual remote that came with it, so they gave us another remote that works. We replaced the lamp but we keep getting the message that the lamp needs to be replaced and the timer reset. Plus the red lamp indicator is still on. We even used a friend's remote (he has the exact same tv) and it still will not reset the timer.
