Tv won't read the cable when hooked to the cable wire without cable box

It sound like the tuner was bad. Replace main board will fix it.

Is the HDMI port 2 work? Try to turn it off and turn it back on. If it is still not working then the HDMI ports have gone bad. You will need to replace the main board.

I have this same problem, when I turn on the TV there is no sound. I have cycled through HDMI and off air signal and comp 1, all with no sound. The only way I can get it back is to go in to the menu and change the sound to fixed from variable, then it will pop back on. Since the lack off sound happens with digital tuner on local channel I know it is the TV and not my Direct TV box.

You need to select HDMI 2 in tv to get bluray playback picture and sound.
Select HDMI 2 source by either tv remote or buttons on tv itself then tv will show bluray picture.
