Thanks for the info. The volume was set on level 5 but after altering it to louder and the key changes to tone it suddenly started working. Maybe was stuck or something. Anyway great - it is fixed. Thanks.

Even though the phones profile is not set to silent. the volume on the standard profile could be switched off ! go into the profile settings to check that the volume for your current profile is switched on and up. if the problem persists, seek help from Sony Ericsson And/or your Mobile Phone Carrier

LG VX8700 - No sound coming from speaker

Sounds just like the problem I had. I took the phone apart and removed the internal speaker. Tried the contacts with another speaker from another phone...and it worked. This leads me to believe that the internal speaker has failed. I am now on the hunt to get a replacement speaker.

On the LG VU CU920, how do you set ringtones as message alerts?

After going through the manual and talking to an AT&T rep, I found that it is not possible to set your own ringtone as a message alert tone. You can only use your own ringtones for calls and ringer ID's. We're stuck with the 10 pre-loaded rings for the message alerts. :(
