The TV keeps switching off after every few minutes while the power on the satelite dish receiver remains on. We have to keep pressing AUX on the remote to turn it on.

You require a satelite decoder/receiver for your dish and an aerial for your TV. The choice is yours. Plug a satelite receiver, for freesat, into the A/V input on the TV or have an aerial installed for freeview.
This is usually not the DVR but rather the source. Especially in bad weather. Source means everything before your device....Bad weather in other parts of the country interrupt the signal to the satelites and back.
check sat in cable, if cracks or breaks in line can cause sfss. also on back of receiver you want to make sure that sat in cable has a little copper wire sticking straight up and that its getting a good connection on the back of the receiver.
my reciver dont recored and dont pause and take like 12 minutes to
turning on, and have a message that a have to add a usb to help
organize the programing a recored, o and is to slow that a have to
keep presure the channel buton for like 5 seconts to make change
The satelite dish will not pass-through the video/audio from your DVD player. You will need to find an open area (preferably DVD selector) on your receiver to input the DVD video/audio. Most satelite boxes are one way devices.
Satelite box --> Receiver (satelite input)--> TV
DVD Player --> Receiver (DVD Player input) --> TV
