sometimes you can have weaker signal, and pictures freeze...
it can be caused by bad weather, by thunderstorms, heavy rain....
you can't do anything about it, just get stronger antena....it can improve your gain from signal, but never for 100%
The television may be repairable most tv shops ask a $20 fee to look at and tell youyes or know as to how to get rid of it if you dont want to bother with it all take it to your local dump and pay $10 for correct disposal.

Your tv cable has shorted out. Replace the cable first before thinking the worse. Worse case is the sound board on the wii is bad... but can be ordered from places like wiiparts.com and risingsonltd.com
