Question about Dell E173FP 17" LCD Flat Panel Monitor
Hi, My Dell flat screen monitor, E173FP, is about 1 year old. For the past 2 weeks, when it is running for say 30-60 minutes, I notice the screen momentarily brightens up and within a second after that it switches off even though the computer is still running. The power switch still shows power in it. If I switch-off and then switch it on from the monitor's power button, the picture re-appears but goes off again within a few seconds. This situation of picture off-power off-power on-picture on-picture off can repeat itself many times. Once it starts, it makes the working on PC impossible thereafter. It happens irrespective of whether I am on internet or working on any local application. Any solutions?
Sounds like the power inverters went out on alot of these dell flat panels...dell should make it right with these customers i think it is faulty hardware or design

Mine does this too...honestly if you hit the back of the monitor with some force it will clear up... It sucks but it works for my Dell monitor.

Sorry not a solution - but I have started experiencing the exact same problem over the last month although sometimes, on switching on again, it will run for 10-15 minutes before the problem re-emerges. Initially I put it down to the v. hot weather in July but it still continues. So I would also appreciate any solutions!

I have the same problem with my Dell 3008WFP. Dell have replaced it 3 times, but within a couple of days the problem starts again - the screen flickers very brightly for about a second then shuts down. The blue light indicates that the power is still on - I have to switch it off and on again to get the screen to work again..
