Black steak on copied paper

The printer makes a black streak on the paper that is copied. It only happens when making a photo copy of a page. Documents from the computer come out beautifully.

Clean the scanner glasses, check the little glass, if it have scratches. There is a white strip across between the 2 glasses, be shure to clean it up.

After a few copies are made, black streaks start showing up on the copies and gets worse with each successive copy

for most copier those black streaks are caused by poor cleaning of the Photo Conductor Drum these can be fix by replacing the cleaning blade. after replacing them clean the Photo Conductor Unit and make some test copies.

Our copies are streaky like the drum is not clean.... help! There is black streaks on the top of all of our copies on our canon imagerunner 3300.

A) Black Streaks, Shadows, And Ghosting
Adjust the printer's lightness/darkness setting to 2-3 different variables and see if problem disappears. Look at the fusing assembly - is the roller torn or does it have any black buildup? Use caution!!! It gets HOT!

Try another toner also.

Print quality

The problem is that the printer is set to print on default paper.
When you use photo or other specialty paper, especially when the thickness is greater than inexpensive copy paper, the print heads need to match the paper.
Go to the control panel on the printer, and enter the type of paper you're using. Your problem of streaking will disappear.

HP Officejet 6300 All-in-one machine makes black streaks

The problem is that that there a small piece of glass that the doc feeder use's to scan the orginal. You will have to clean the small glass it's about a half of a inch piece and is normally under the doc feeder unit. It will either be to the right side of the main copy board glass or it is under the doc feed unit where the paper goes down through the feeder. It is mostly some white out on the glass, just clean with a dam cloth with water or windex..... Good Luck

Blank Streaks

streaks are caused either by the toner, drum, lamp or fuser.

If you make a copy and it does not show a streak then it was done by the person sending the fax. BUT, check this,

open door and take out toner cartridge. look for a thin glass that is on the bottom of the machine and wipe it. Toner spills will cause a black streak.

HP 7410 streaks on scanning and copying

First you need to determine if it's doing from both the  top and the glass.

1-assuming you are using the feeder to fax, copy or scan (the part that automatically picks up the paper) it comes out with a streak. Make a copy putting the paper on the glass and look at the copy. Does it have the streak?

2-lift the top and look to the left there should be a small 1inch glass, this is where it makes the copies from the feeder, is there a dot or white out or is the glass dirty? that's your streak, the paper is moving to make the copy,so the dot now looks like a line as opposed to making a copy on the glass it just sits there so a dot will stay a dot.

2- Clean with water or alcohol.
