Unknown disc this problem just started, I can play all bootleg movies and not store bought movies disc, when my Apex used to play all of my movie disc I have cleaned it with disc cleaner, cleaned all the dvd'store bought movie but I tell yall I have more bootleg than store bought you know! My system is 9 years old and I have a Apex AD 1010w and cant find anyone to give me advice! tell me what to do and it is so frustrating! I heard clicking sounds just before this begin and I keep it on 24 hours a day and play it all day long what can I do to make it recieve my store bought DVD disk!!?? Also I need to know what I did wrong, I also in my room have 2 Air Conditioners running,also own 2 cats! I keep the place clean and the air conditioners and a good distance from my Tv,DVD player & Stereo I am lost help me and teach me and I am sure others have this problem! This really needs to be posted because I find every one speaking of expensive and there DVD player doing all this stuff, Hay mine is just a 9 year old simple dvd player which I love speak on the simple old DVD Player ALSO!

hi,

Does it happen for all dvd disc or some particular dvd disc. If it is with some particular disc then clean the dvd and try them. If the problem exist for all the dvd then try to clean the lens by dvd lens cleaner and try to play. dvd lens cleaner will be available in dvd stores.

when you play nothing but bootlegs in a dvd player, they tend to burn out the eye inside the player to where it will only read bootlegs. the original movies capabilities won't work anymore. hope this is a help to you my friend.

I have a samsung BD c5500 bluray player. When I try to play movies it says mismatch disk and region code. How can I fix this?
Providing that you have a legal DVD player that is meant to play discs in this country and that you have bought a legal disc (not an illegal bootleg copy) you might need to do a firmware update on player.

If player has internet connectivity you can do it directly on player - it should be a menu prompt to update firmware

if no internet connection is available on player you will need to contact Samsung and have them send firmware update to you on a disc and load it that way

If either disc or player is a bootleg or grey/black market purchase than that is the issue

Players will only play discs from the region they were made to work in

USA is region 1

There is some confusion in the explanation here.

The TV does not play movies it displays them It is the DVD that Plays them. But of course you knew that. Some of the newer movies like avatarcan be on Blu ray if your DVD is supposed to play Blu ray but doesn't don't be surprised as they have changed the format recently. Your DVD will require an udate of firmnware. Go to the website of the DVD brand and contact support Download the update and burn it to a disc and run it.

With the TV end Make sure the resolution can be accepted from the DVD you are trying to Play. If it isn't HD or capable of 1024x768 at 16.4 then it may not be able to display the image. Is there any sound?

If sound but no Pic then start playing with the picture format. go to 8.2 or 4,0 to see if it makes any difference

Ps3 was playing movies i had burned to disk now it wont
The best way to play burned movies is to copy them onto a memory stick or external hard drive then copy them onto the ps3 i use this method and find the movies play in much higher quality than dvd-r or+r or whatever discs you use
