TV DVD Combo - Won't come on with the first try of the button or remote...

After repluging into an alternate receptacle and pushing the on/off button (on the front or the remote) about 60-100 times it will come on...but only after I have plugged into an alternate receptacle. After I'm finished watching and turn it off, I am able to turn it right back on. However, after it sits overnight I am back to the same problem. Sometimes it will turn on after the 3rd or 10th try (a rare occassion). Once on, all is fine. I have experienced this problem approximately one month. Any suggestions? Is it worth having repaired? TV was mfg. Oct. 2002 and I've had it since mid 2003. Thanks for your help or suggestions. I love having a TV on my kitchen counter to watch as I cook, etc. Gayle

Apex DVD/Tv combo GT2015DV won't play dvd's

Something is wrong..crbr799 your DVD-TV has a TV-DVD button on the right front to switch from TV to DVD play...OPEN button on left side ,place DVD in tray, close & press PLAY...
I something simulator that needs the remote control for the SPECIAL functions....by the way the ORIGINAL r\c is $135 to $155, a replacement ($35) will turn the TV\DVD on ( which you can do without the r\c) and NOT function with anything else.
P.S. they will try to sell you universal r\c that work with the CABLE boxes, the ones that you pay a monthly fee!!

I have an advent tv/dvd combo. I dont have a remote and its stuck on video. how can I put it on tv without the remote? thank you

Disconnect the TV\DVD combo from power source (A\C) for two to three days, Replug power cord & see if it returns to normal. 2nd attempt:: Unplug A\C power from wall and take a piece of bear wire or any metal (paper clip, screw driver ) and SHORT the two blades of A\C plug for at least one FULL day.DO NOT PLUG INTO a\c SOCKET FOR ANY REASON !!! After one full day, take the short accross the blades. Replug into A\C power socket. see if that fixes the problem. P.S. Your TV should have a button that switches from TV to DVD play right in the right front.
