Aligning problem When i print, my document comes out with a couple of lines coming down the side of the page and the middle of the page . If my document is printed in colour then what ever the colour is thats what colour the lines are to where it distorts the lettering and the contents of the document always comes out with double vision. i dont no haw to align it or where to go to align it. Also the cartridges make alot of noise when getting ready to print and the cartridge keeps getting stuck to where i have to keep turning it on and off just to clear it please help thank you

Thank you marv for that but when i go into the printers and faxes icon then to properties i found a print page and what htat does is show me that the artridges are working but not how to align it so would there be another way or another place to go to get it aligned

You could try opening the HP toolbox should be under Start--> Control Panel--> Printers and Faxes. under properties os options. It will be something like that. Then print an alignment page put it in the scan section of the All In One as prompted and that should align it also under the setting there will be clean print nozzles. If this fails I would seriously consider just replacing the printer. There also explanations of this at www.hp.com

Black vertical lines come and go for scans to computer and copies

I suspect the Document Feeder is not aligned properly and light is leaking in. You will need to have a technician in to check the alignment of the scanner to see if it needs to be readjusted. random black lines on edges usually indicate light leaking into the scan area.

You may need to do an alignment of the print cartridges. 1. Open the HP Solution Center 2. Click on Settings 3. In the Print Settings section, click Printer Toolbox 4.Click Align the Print Cartridges 5. Click Print Page An alignment page will be printed. Placed the alignment sheet with the printed side down on the right front corner of the scanner glass. Press the scan button to complete the alignment.

Sounds like you may be low on ink. Have you tried to replace the cartridges? If this does not fix the issue please let me know and I will try and help.

place one plain paper in the tray.
it will print the test paper
print it and place it on the scanner with the printed side down.
press the scan button from the printer
printer will blink the light for some time and stop blinking
now it didn't print test print every time you print

I couldn't initally print, and I restarted the Spooler Service. I wasn't getting anywhere, so I restarted. On the restart, the printer doesn't show up in Printers & Faxes in the Control Panel. I reinstalled the software and the printer still doesn't show up in the same window.
