Reformat the card???

How can I reformat the card if the camera's menu will not even come on the display? The card will not show up anymore in the computer. Camera still will recognize when no card is inserted, and gives "No Card!" message, so the display works. Lens still extends just fine with the card out of the camera. This is weird. Thanks for the formatting tip rafiq.

My camera says frame no. Full

Not really familiar with that camera, but if it uses an SD or other memory card you might try reformatting the card. There should be an option for reformatting in your menu. (Reformatting will erase all pics). If that doesn't work you might try another memory card.
Also, try removing the battery for a few minutes to reboot the microprocessor.

Camera cards

You should ALWAYS reformat your card after you have downloaded the latest batch of pictures. If you don't the card will eventually corrupt and you'll lose everything on it. Reformatting can be done from the menuing system of any decent digital camera, or even from the PC (but better on the camera).

I have an SD 4GB card which I used to use for my Canon digicam. Now, I would like to use it for my LX2 and the LX2 won't read the card. I have reformatted the card through my mac and the LX2 still won't...

When the error comes up onscreen you should still be able to access the review menu (where you look at your photos), just keep pressing the button for review. even though the error shows you should definitely still be able to format it in camera. Also double check the usual things - the card is unlocked and compatible with the LX2. Hope that helps.

Card problems with Minolta S414

You can try formatting the card on a computer and then trying another format on the camera. If that doesn't help, try another card.

If multiple cards don't work in the camera, I'd start suspecting the camera.

Initializing card on fujifilm e500

You need to reformat the card. Find the menu item, probably under 'System', or something like that, and reformat it. You should reformat your card every time you download you photos anyway, else the card can fail. If it won't reformat dump it and get another one.
