I can not delete a download called,freeride games player. It keeps saying the program is running, that I should close the program, then return to control panel to delete. I have deleted all referance to the program except for in add and remove. Please help, my computer is acting up and it must be this download causing the problems. Thank you, Ginny

Sometime websites get in legal problems because they provide links to download copyrighted material
Problem might be the ISP, the SERVER or local authorities.
So they change politics.

anti-virus/malware programs sometimes recognize as malware that are not. They are not perfect. You should check to see what actions to carry out before you quarantine/delete all, because it may have detected your favourite program !!

Most such programs back up the registry before running. Check this and reinstate it if possible. If this does not work, perform a system restore on your computer to its last working state (the last restore point created usually) (NOT a system recovery !). This should not harm any of you data.
Or, you may choose to uninstall any remnants of the program in (free ride player), and install it from scratch again.

To close the pop up try clicking CTRL-ALT-DELETE go to TASK MANAGER then go to PROCESSES, find the process for the Stupid Test App,(if you cannot find it look in APPLICATIONS, end the task, this should at least close it temporarily. Next go to your start menu, CONTROL PANNEL --> Uninstall a program search for the name of the program here, click to uninstall it. After you have done this, go online and download a program called Malware Bytes, install it and do a Scan, this should pick up the rest of the program left behind, after you have scanned delete anything it finds. This should fix the problem.

try ccleaner or comodo registry cleaner to clear-out these left-overs from bad un-install programs.

Hi.
It sounds like you have a virus attached into your installation from freeride.

This wouldn't be the first virus that came from there, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

I would do this:
First, disconnect from the internet.
Second, run a COMPLETE system scan, including system and hidden files, and including any removable drives that are attached.

After that, click start, then run

Type in MRT, and press enter, this should start the Malicious Software Removal Tool.

Have it do a full scan of your system as well.

Now, after that, close any open programs, and reboot.

Re-enable your network connection, and try going to the internet.

See if that got rid of the pop up box.

If all is well, then you are good to go.

If not, then you need to somehow download CCleaner, from piriform.com

It is an excellent program for getting rid of junk on the drives of your computer.

Get it, install, and run the cleaner.
Click analyze, the program will do it's thing, and tell you how much junk it is getting ready to remove.
Then click clean, and all the junk goes away!

Next, click on the registry part of CCleaner, it's on the left hand side of the program box.

Have it analyze, then after it's done, I would click save changes, this makes a system restore point, that way you can put your computer back the way it was in case something should go awry.

then click fix problems, and it will fix your registry errors.

After it's done, close the program and reboot.
See if that fixes the problem. 99 % of the time, it will make your computer run as good, if not quite a bit better than it was before you installed the freeride stuff.

I found a restore fix by pressing the return button while plugging into a PC with philips device manager open - the MP3 player then was restored to factory defaults :-)

use a antivirus scanner and reset ie to defaults. normaly is a spyware infection.

Try going to your computers search bar in the start menu and put in the name of the game. Many selections will come up. Delete them one by one until they are gone. I'm assuming you've already been to the "Add and remove programs" section. You may also want to run CC Cleaner(free download) AFTER you do the preceding, This will remove any registry entries left by the game. Thank you, Dana

i just went through this problem today... go to options and the scroll down to status.. if it says 0 bytes then you need to clear all old texts, after you do that make sure all programs are closed. You do this by holding down the ALT button and the return button.. make sure you close every last one of the programs.. take your battery out, then you should be go to go!

This has happened because somehow the program didn't "Close the Session" and make it so data could be added, instead it has "Locked" the disk to prevent any more data being overwritten and ostensibly corrupting the disk.. In this case however it has also locked out everything... and returned it to the "Unformatted" state. Although I suspect you will NOT actually be able to record anything to this disk in actual fact.
