Question about Samsung SCH-a670

Phone shuts itself off

My daughter has a Samsung A670 that will shut itself off if it's closed too hard (which is not very hard). It will also shut itself off occaisionally for no apparent reason. I have the same phone and I don't have this problem. Any ideas? Her "new every 2" discount isn't for another year and I can't afford another phone.

Is it always best to close all applications of your ipad once your done using it? Should you even shut it down completely or just closing the applications is sufficient?

This is the Samsung forum, not iPad.

That said, tablets and phones should certainly close the non-working apps to free up bandwidth on your home WiFi.

They also should be shut off from time to-time to be sure any updates have taken.

Shutting off and on

That actually is a flaw in the Sansung phone itself, its something in the manufacturing. When getting large messages or multimedia messages the Samsung will power itself on and off. Had the same problem with Samsung.

LG ENV2 shutting off

I just got mine a few weeks ago and it does the same exact thing (I didn't drop it, there is no water damage, I didn't understand the cause of it). I took it back to the Verizon store and I was told that the random shutting off like that is caused by having the phone outside being exposed to heat. He reset my phone back to factory settings and that did the trick for awhile (its hard for me to go to the pool and not have my phone exposed to the heat). There is no charge for them to reset the phone. Mine has started the random shutting off again back up

I need to find my number in my phone

Typically if you go into the options, or main menu you will see tools, settings. ect. There will be an option for Phone info, if you go there it will provide your number.

Hope this helps, thank you for stopping by Fixya!

Samsung A670

It sounds like you pulled out the flex ribbon cable that is between the joint of the phone. It might have even gotten torn. You might try opening it again and looking for it as well as any other cables/ribbons that might have come loose.
