Player wont switch on

My iriver ihp 120 wont switch on , when i plug it into the mains the little green light comes on , but when i hold the play/power button down it does not respond . It also seems to get very warm when i leave it on charge . Pls help someone flying to holland in 5 days and i have no tunes for 11 hours ! !

I have the same dawn problem!!! here what im gonna try first: *theres a place called cherry fusion in el paso, texas. u have to send ur player to them via mail. they'll tell u whats wrong, give u an estimate and they'll let u decide whether u want to them to fix it or not... im also gonna try to go to one of those shops where they fix computers and see if they can extract the contents of my hard drive. it took me so long to fill my player with those songs!! :(

I have the same problem in that nothing happens when I press down the play button on the base unit. However, when I press play on the remote the unit turns on. Not sure if this solution applies to your problem...

Computer cant find my iriver 120

if u have data cable with your device plug it into
the usb port of your pc and put the installer cd of
your device into the cd drive and install the driver
and plug your device on the cable.

Iriver ihp-120(H120)stuck on the start up screen that says "iRiver".Red Hard drive activity light is on and also the green light for charging stays on. but des not go any further tried resetting it also...

have you tried playing it in ole iriver style (not rockbox). to see if you really did delete something. and if so go to www.iriver.com and download the the last firmware you had to rebuild. and hopefully you can come back to rockbox latest version also. its just a very late suggestion. oh yeah one more do you know of any one who has a 120 as yours (you can copy theirs software, but you will have to format yours in order for it to work correctly)

You can get a replecement on Ebay or at Maplins the spec is

In: 100-240V~50-60Hz 360mA
Out: 5V~2A

be careful I once fried an IHP-120 by using the wrong charger. I replaced the battery but taht wasn't the issue. I had it replaced with a IHP-140 and now my old charger has gone too. I got a replacement through the company I bought it from but they have none left.

You can download the software from Iriver goto support then to download and select your player. I would recommend re-formatting your player with a program such as swissknife http://www.compuapps.com/download/Swissknife/swissknife.htm in case you've accidentally partition it somehow. It probably wouldn't hurt to run windows scan disc after formatting(right click your player in my computer and select properties then tools then error checking and check th automatically fix errors box.
