Question about Panasonic NV-FJ620 VHS/S-VHS playback VCR

2 Answers

Reception quality Hello I regular move my VCR from the lounge to the bedroom and have been doing this without problem for years. Yesterday I noticed that when I recorded the quality was poor (first time ever). So I thought maybe it was the antenna and tested it with others. The external leads are fine in the tv to wall but when I go through the VCR now I have some snow. I can still view Ch9 reasonably well but the others are quite poor now. This is for both viewing tv and recording via the VCR. Does this mean something inside the VCR is lose and I now have to take it to a technician? thanks Ann

Dear Annie, First check your signal sources. Is the picture clear when you connect the cable from the wall socket directly to the TV? No? Then replace the cable connecting the wall socket of the Antenna to the TV. Next, if picture is clear, then something is wrong in the VCR. Check the rear of the VCR.There is generally a Signal attenuator switch. (Hi/Lo) Change it's setting to High.Try recording and playback again. Is your problem cured? No? Then itis possible that the RF box in the VCR has gone faulty. Do you really want to spend some money on this? U decide.

Again, it is entirely possible that there is a faulty cable from the antenna to the wall socket. Or perhaps your antenna has shifted in strong winds. if so, get that fixed.

First you have to check if the problem get solve by conecting the supply sourges(cable dish or ant.) direct to the tv..if the problem get solve then try cleaning the vcr head with a liquid use head cleaner becouse a littel snow means that the problem is a littel dirty head or a broken one..also there is a chance to a mayor problen and in that case yes you have to take it to a tech...good luck if the problem persist when you conect the sourge direc to the tv then check the terminal conector if ist ok then notify you sservices company for the problem..

How do I go about arranging for my landline to be moved from he bedroom into the lounge?

If you own the property, that is your right.

If you must ask a landlord's permission, then do so.

I have a sky hd+ box in my lounge and wish to make the sky work in my bedroom, I am happy to only watch what is on the lounge tv in the bedroom (not have multi room) thanks Nigel

Run a coax cable from the sky hd+ box at the rear from the RF2 coax port, and into tv in bedroom.
If you want to change channels, buy a magic eye from eBay for a couple pounds, enter sky settings, and turn power on to the RF2 output. this will supply your coax to bedroom with 9v which will power your magic rye

PS3 used to work on TV in bedroom and on TV in lounge, now it won't work on TV in bedroom

I believe your Lounge TV is an HDTV and your Bedroom TV isn't, This is what you have to do:
1. Connect it to
your Lounge TV with an HDMI cable and a red/white/yellow cable.
2. Turn it on and go to the display settings and switch it to the composite cable setting.
3. Change your TV channel where you would see the red/white/yellow cable and accept it that way.
4. You should be all set. Take it to the regular TV and connect it with the red/white/yellow cable.
cheers :)

Connecting an analog TV (about 8 years old) to the cable, the picture and sound quality is very bad. However, connection via a VCR results in good reception but the VCR has to be left on and thus I have to...

Gary_akai, First thing to do is try to find out what 75 ohm "patch" cable or "F" connector is causing a "LOSS" of signal. Could be a "DEFORMED" center conntact in tv rf input. OR an open shield with one of your patch cables. OR a too short center conductor that should be sticking out at least an 1/8" past the end of the 75 ohm cable "F" connector. I'm louie12fix on fixya Bye for now..

I have 3 digital tv's one in the lounge/bedroom and kitchen for some reason last night, the tv's in the bedroom and kitchen lost all digital channels and the analogue channels were very poor to view snowy...

Loosing digital channels is equivlent to a snowy analog channel, check you cable connections, and splitters to the tv, since you have two of them out, it does not make sense that it is your tv. It is a conneciton in your cable line somewhere.

One channel on LCD not clear picture help!

this is a problem with the reception in your area. It should be resolved with an adjustment of your antenna to a location of clear reception.Ask someone in the house watch the television while the antenna is being adjusted for best reception and set the antenna. If you have cable, you must contact the cable company and ask them if they have a resolution to the reception problem. Hope this helps you with your problem.
