Reception quality Hello I regular move my VCR from the lounge to the bedroom and have been doing this without problem for years. Yesterday I noticed that when I recorded the quality was poor (first time ever). So I thought maybe it was the antenna and tested it with others. The external leads are fine in the tv to wall but when I go through the VCR now I have some snow. I can still view Ch9 reasonably well but the others are quite poor now. This is for both viewing tv and recording via the VCR. Does this mean something inside the VCR is lose and I now have to take it to a technician? thanks Ann

Dear Annie, First check your signal sources. Is the picture clear when you connect the cable from the wall socket directly to the TV? No? Then replace the cable connecting the wall socket of the Antenna to the TV. Next, if picture is clear, then something is wrong in the VCR. Check the rear of the VCR.There is generally a Signal attenuator switch. (Hi/Lo) Change it's setting to High.Try recording and playback again. Is your problem cured? No? Then itis possible that the RF box in the VCR has gone faulty. Do you really want to spend some money on this? U decide.

Again, it is entirely possible that there is a faulty cable from the antenna to the wall socket. Or perhaps your antenna has shifted in strong winds. if so, get that fixed.

First you have to check if the problem get solve by conecting the supply sourges(cable dish or ant.) direct to the tv..if the problem get solve then try cleaning the vcr head with a liquid use head cleaner becouse a littel snow means that the problem is a littel dirty head or a broken one..also there is a chance to a mayor problen and in that case yes you have to take it to a tech...good luck if the problem persist when you conect the sourge direc to the tv then check the terminal conector if ist ok then notify you sservices company for the problem..
