Disc tray does not come out

I have Onkyo - DR-C500 model. THis playey is 5 DVD/CD changer. There were five disc inside when I carried thatto other house. There when I tried playing I see disc tray where I load the DVDs never comes out. I opened up the reciever and removed 4 disc. I dont remember if there is one disc in the receiver which seems to be stuck inside. As I see front panel only reports disc 2 always and plays when I press play button. No voice come out from there and it looks like some thing is improper inside. Can some one help me to fix this as warranty is over. Harshad

    Thanks Take.

I removed the disc but the now the problem is like this. I am in the open cover of my receiver. When I press eject buttom the disc tray does not come out. Also the disc 2 always remains on the disply screen. I was wondering if there is any gear mechanism which is failed which does not bring the tray out. One important thing is that earlier carousel was not rotating but now atleast it is rotating but it rotates and bring the disc 2 to the same position. Do you know how this works for bringing the tray out and skipping the disc.

I can't get the disc tray door open using the open button on the DVD player or the remote. Where can this be taken to be repaired?

I also have a DR-C500 and when I press the eject button, the display keeps flashing "open", but nothing happens. I opened the case and checked for any stray disks, but it's empty so I put it back together. Any idea if this is fixable? Thanks,

How do you remove a disc when the eject buttom does not work on a Emerson EWD2202? I was reading that you can manually open the disc tray door. When the electricity is turned off, you take a stretched out paper clip and locate a pin hole along the edge of the disc tray door. I looked and I couldn't find a pin hole, any suggestions.

I have a DVD in the player and when I press Open/Close, it triggers to come out but the tray doesn't move. I tried turning it off and leaving it off for several hours in hopes that it would open after it had cooled down but nothing happens. I also have tried to open the tray lip but it still doesn't come out when I try to open it up. I have looked for a release button but there doesn't seem to be one. Any suggestions?

Changer draw does not open?

Hello,
I had the same issue a long time ago and it turned out that the belt that drive the opening mechanism was slippery, Replacing the belt solved the issue.

You may try to gently help the drawer with you hands to see if the belt is only slippery or maybe is completely gone.

Onkyo 6 disc cd player onkyo DX-C390

my onkyo 6 disc changer was doing the same thing was doing the same thing. i opened it up and noticed the cds weren't quite stopping at the right spot. so i loosened the screw right in the middle of the disc tray. now operates perfectly now. i think maybe with age, the belt tension got a little lighter ant loosening the screw compensated for it.

Tray won't open

Have a professional open it up to check so not to further damage the device. If you want to do it your self, you can open it up, just make sure your warranty is not void by doing so...

A possibility is that the tray has a lodged cd in it...

Onkyo DR-C500 won't recognize discs

Onkyo units as well as several other manufacturers have a common problem where the spindle motor gets intermittant or wont come up to speed. Its not hard to replace this motor, but could be a trick to adjust the platter height. Also the unit probably needs a servo alighnment as well. This unit could also have a simple problem as a dirty laser lens. You can try to use a disc lens cleaner to see if that helps. Good Luck

DR-C500 problem with turning the system ON

Make sure all power connectors, cords and plugs are inserted securely and that the outlets are in good working order Be sure to select an audio source (CD, AM/FM, etc.) For powered systems, unplug the power pack for a few seconds, and then reconnect it. This allows the unit to reset itself after a power surge or power interruption. good luck!
