Question about Konica Minolta DiMAGE A1 Digital Camera

Lens knocked out of alignment?

After a while of the camera not being used I've just turned it on and what I now see through the viewfinder / on the LCD only bears slight resemblance to what it should be showing. When I take pictures it's better but looks way out of focus and distorted, has red tint and it looks like red and blue light from an object hit different parts of the CCD. Is it likely that a lens is out of alignment and if so how hard is that to fix? The zoom lens still works fine and has the same effect. Thanks.

This sounds like a defective Sony CCD issue. If so, Sony will fix your Minolta camera for free (with free shipping) regardless of warranty. You need to do this before March 31, 2008 so get going! See this link:

The Dimage models that Sony is accepting for the recall repair are:
Dimage 7HI, 7I, A1, Xi, F300, XT, X20, S414.

Hi, as per my experience symptoms you described is related to ccd. I think ccd replacement is must.It is really hard and costly to fix this problem but if you have bill and warranty dont worry. Just go to KonicaMinolta shop. good luck...

Nikon F65 won't auto-focus or take shots

You're on the right track with oxidation. Try cleaning the contacts in the body and on the lens with contact cleaner, and let it dry. Remove the battery, and clean the contacts inside the camera.

Sounds like your lens has been mis-aligned, if a lens on these types of cameras is jolted or knocked around it will mis-align the lens or take it out of calibration. The best thing to does is take it to a camera shop and have them look at it

Nikon FE film winder jammed.

Is it the viewfinder or the film advance lever? If the viewfinder is not showing any image and the shutter is not getting released, then it could be a problem with the mirror box.To confirm, remove the lens and see if it gets released. To align the lens, you have to take it to the nearest service center (or repair shop).

"lens error" on camera. Camera will not function.

Try helping gently the lens to extend completely, using your fingernails, if the lens still do not extend, then the lens cylinder must be taken apart and remounted, this is a job that must be done at a repair shop.

Error code E:61:20 on Sony DSC-S600

This is the result of the gears in the viewfinder that run a barrel style gear are misaligned or mashing.

Two Solutions:

1. Replace or clean out and reseat the gears of the viewfinder. This requires a small bit of technical camera repair expertise.

2. Now do not laugh at this one. Turn the camera ON and immediately while the grinding is going on slap the camera very hard in the palm of your other hand. Do this repeatedly until the issue fixes itself. I have recommended and done this many many times and fixed a bunch of cameras this way. LOL The gears of the motor and the viewfinder barrel gear become misaligned so a good hard jolt seems to get them back in alignment and you should be good to go.

Good luck. Stop the laughing it works. LOL

Beeps 3 times

Is it an actual beep, or is it a beeping noise coming from the lens? Does the lens extend? I ask this because this is the noise the lens focus gears make when they are knocked out of alignment, or debris gets in them and jams them.

Camera error

The problem is the internal focus lens is either stuck, or knocked out of alignment. The lens will need to be serviced, or replaced with a new (not cost effective), or good used lens assembly.
